Michael J. Whitman has been in the antiques business since 1972. He started buying and selling antiques in London, where he is originally from. In 1975, he and his wife Marjorie moved to America to live and to sell antiques. Once established here, he opened a shop in Fort Washington, Pennsylvania and started doing antique shows, still continuing to travel back and forth to buy and learn all that he could about antique metalware. Michael is a specialist in his field, does a number of prestigious antique shows, is sought out for his opinion on objects and has decided to create this website.
Michael J. Whitman Antiques specializes in fine metal objects from the Gothic period to the 20th century and has an extensive and varied collection of metalware. We deal in antique English, European and American objects made of brass, copper, paktong, bronze, silver, pewter, iron, and tin. We have a large variety of copper cookware, brass decorative accessories, as well as other metalware, all in excellent condition and ready for use!
Everything is guaranteed to be antique, and Michael enjoys taking a great deal of time and detail in discussing and telling you as much as possible about the item that strikes your interest. Our inventory includes affordable objects as well as museum-quality rarities. We personally select each item, and guarantee the condition and authenticity of everything we sell.
Michael is in business with his wife Marjorie and their daughter Margaret and is a member of The Rushlight Club, The Antiques Metalware Society, and The Schuylkill Alliance Chamber of Commerce.
